Gordes, on
the edge of the Vaucluse
plateau is one of the most
famous villages in the
Luberon. The village is
built on a rock, the white
and grey stone houses, form
a spiral around the rock.
Crowning the village at the
top of the rock are the
church and the fortified
castle which overlook the
hills of the Luberon.
Because of its exceptional
location, charm and
distinctive architecture, it
has been classified as one
of the most beautiful
